Balaan Bukid in Guimaras is a popular pilgrimage site of the Catholic devotees especially
during the Holy Week. It has 14 stations along the trail to the top called “Way
of the Cross”. The Catholics visit Balaan
Bukid to be reminded the suffering of Jesus Christ through the saving mankind.
Once they each the top, there is a scenic view of Iloilo
City and Jordan, Guimaras. On the summit of Balaan Bukid, is a chapel of Ave
aria Purisima and big cross which can be
seen the Iloilo City’s coast. The peak of Balaan Bukid is a place to reflect and
relax because its cool and tranquil atmosphere.
